The Allergic Audience
Written and directed by Joan Greening, The Allergic Audience is a new comedy. Starring Julia Munrow and Julia Rufey, the show premiered in August 2016 at the Edinburgh Festival and is a Drunken Sailor presentation.
What happens when there's no audience, and the volunteers running the venue are a bit bonkers? This is a laugh-out-loud show, which also manages to explore loneliness and female friendship. The two characters are full of foibles and quirks, and sparks fly until it becomes apparent that they have far more in common than they would ever have realised. The show is full of one-liners and is beautifully acted by Julia Munrow and Julia Rufey, who deal masterfully with Joan Greening's intricate script. Touching, clever and very, very funny. A real Edinburgh treat. Edinburgh Fringe
